"There are myriad varieties of bellydance throughout the Middle East, many of which precede Islam. The music is an entire field in itself, from Romany Flamenco to Pakistani Qawwali, with corresponding choreography. Playing Barbie with silky, glittery, sequin encrusted neon coloured costumes and waaaay too much makeup is wonderful fun for my inner child as well. What's not to like?
