(2) Drum Solo Choreography Workshops w/ Ahzs

 

 

 

Note to beginners: These terms may sound "scary" but the class is not! I break all of these down for you in great detail so it is easy.

 

Learn an introduction to basic Middle Eastern rythmns and how to "play" them on your body. We will cover Maqsum, Beledi, (4) combos for Sai'di, and Malfuf. Learn to recognize the rythmns when played and how to dance to their unique rythmns in your dance - anywhere, anytime! A great foundation for those beginning in bellydance, and an expansion of technique and combos to those who are beyond beginners and in to intermediate levels. You will walk away from this workshop with immediately applicable rythmn interpretations for use in either Tribal or more Traditional dance.

 

Also, there is nothing like having a live drummer present to work with on these rythmns. We're glad to have Xavier on the dumbek drumming for this event. Come enjoy this entirely unique drumming and dance experience with us!

 

Get sizzling with a short, lively, 1:49 new drum solo using beginning moves and techniques to take your dance to the next level. The music is exhilerating and the dance is super-charged for fun! This is great for those beyond beginner/intermediate level dancers who need a drum solo to round out their repitoire or for those beginners who want to jump in and sink their teeth into dancing to percussion only. The style is classical American bellydance (via MIAMI ;-).

 

Ahzs has been performing classical American style bellydance and bellydance with a latin/flamenco style for the past (6) years. She has studied the art of bellydance extensively throughout South Florida and North Carolina with a variety of instructors including: Carmen Amaya, Khadayif (Tampa), Azmara (New York), Nourhan Sharif (New York), Kira (N. Miami Beach), Bozenka (BDSS- Miami Beach), Alina Yllanes (Lotus Dance, Pembroke Pines, FL), Salomae (N. Miami, FL), Alexandra (NC), Souhail Kaspar, (CA), Myriam Eli (Miami, FL) and various workshops accross the country.
